Delegation led by envoy Khurisat, Jordan embassy visits Safe City Islamabad

Ambassador of Jordan Dr. Maan Abdel Fattah Khurisat along with a delegation of his embassy on Monday visited the Central Police Office Islamabad and met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.

The IGP briefed the Jordanian delegation about foolproof security of the federal capital, about Safe City’s centralized system, cutting-edge technology-equipped cameras, and monitoring facilities.

He also informed the delegation about coverage of various sectors of the city and its integration with private buildings, toll plazas, and the metro bus system was highlighted, with ongoing upgrades continuing to expand its reach.

The Jordanian embassy delegation discussed various matters with IGP Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and was briefed about the measures taken by the Islamabad capital police to maintain foolproof security.

The delegation was also briefed about the important measures taken by the Islamabad Police during the recent General Elections 2024, to maintain law and order situation in Islamabad and to ensure the protection of life and property of the citizens.

The delegation also visited the control room in Safe City. Ambassador Maan Abdel Fattah also had a brief interview with the FM Radio of Islamabad Police and appreciated the measures taken by the police for the safety and security of the citizens. He particularly referred to the Feb 8 general elections that were held in a peaceful manner, thanks to Islamabad Police’s efforts.

The delegation was also briefed about the Safe City’s role in the security of the city and the prevention of crimes through Safe City Islamabad. Furthermore, emergency facilities have also been brought together under one roof at Safe City so that all facilities can be provided to the citizens in a timely manner.

The IGP said that the Islamabad Capital Police was using modern technology to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property. On this occasion, the delegation appreciated the efforts of the IGP and his team. CPO Safe City project, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz and other senior officers of Islamabad Police were also present on the occasion.
