ISLAMABAD – The federal government will revise the petrol and diesel prices keeping in view with international trend in the upcoming fortnightly review on Feb 15.
As tension in Middle East continues to heighten, the global oil prices have registered uptick, a trend that can cause an increase in petroleum prices in Pakistan
Meanwhile, Pakistan went to the elections on Feb 8 and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the provisional results with PTI-backed candidates leading the race in National Assembly constituencies followed by PML-N and PPP.
A process for the forming of national and provincial governments will be started after the announcement of the official results.
It is expected that the caretaker government would announced the revised prices for petroleum products for second fortnight of February 2024 as forming the new government will take some more days.
Expected Petrol, Diesel Prices in Pakistan
The government is expected to increase the petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan from Feb 16 due to rising international prices. The interim government is also expected to keep the prices unchanged, leaving the ball in court of the new setup.

Currently, the per litre petrol price stands at Rs272.89 while per litre is being sold for Rs276.21.
