LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall of varying intensities for Lahore and parts of Punjab during the weekend.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting Balochistan and upper Sindh. It is likely to affect upper parts of Pakistan from tonight.
Under these conditions, cold/cloudy weather with rain/snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings on Friday night. Rain-wind thunderstorm is also likely in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during the period.
On Saturday and Sunday, rain-wind thunderstorm is expected in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Jhang, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal, Okara, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Rain-snow is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings during the period.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 06-08 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 07-09 C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, cold weather prevailed in Lahore and parts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Murree remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 03 C below freezing. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 55 per cent.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
