MURREE – Murree witnessed influx of tourists as received heavy snowfall on Thursday night and Friday morning.
The people including men and women reached the tourists site to enjoy the snowfall.
The latest reports suggested that around a foot high snowfall was recorded during the last 24 hours which covered the whole area including the roads and the streets, and some of the tourists were also reported to be trapped at different locations.
Murree which is locally known as “Malka-e-Kohsar” [the queen of mountains] is one of the best tourist place in Pakistan which attracts hundreds and thousands of tourists every year.
Responding to heavy snowfall, the local administration came into action and started operation in different areas.
“The rescue work is also underway in affected areas,” said the Murree Deputy Commissioner office. It said that many families which got trapped at different locations were rescued.
What tourists should do before coming to Murree?
On other hand, the Chief Traffic Officer of Rawalpindi issued special traffic advisories for the incoming tourists due to severe cold and heavy snowfall.

The CTO directed the people visiting the areas to keep their fuel tanks of cars full during the snowfall and ensure availability of warm clothes.
He also advised the tourists to put chains on their car tires to prevent slipping and park their cars in the suitable places.
The CTO had also prohibited tourists from standing on the road and taking selfies during snowfall.
