Sindh govt announces week-long election holidays for schools

KARACHI – The interim government in Sindh on Thursday announced five election holidays in all schools, and higher educational institutions across province.

All government and private schools, colleges, and universities in Sindh will remain closed from February 5 to February 9 for the upcoming general election that is set to be held on February 8, 2024.

The Sindh Education Department approved that all public and private sector schools, colleges, and universities in region will be closed till Feb 9 Friday, which will be closed for Saturday and Sunday.

Sindh Elections Holidays in Schools

On Thursday, Sindh Education Department said a summary of the holidays has been forwarded to Chief Minister House. It said official notification will be issued after final nod.

Pakistan is set to hold its delayed general elections this time in light of instability on the country’s political and economic fronts.

On Wednesday, the interim government decided to keep schools across the province closed from February 6 to 9 in the backdrop of general elections slated for February 8.
