Snow has blanketed several tourist destinations including Murree, Swat, Kalam, and Galyat region, attracting large number of tourists, and causing disruption in traffic movement.
As tourists thronged northern regions, people also captured picturesque destinations and some even tried out different winter sports. People were excited as it was the season’s first snowfall in 2024. To avoid any unwanted situation, the district administration also shared advisory for tourists.
As Murree and other tourist sites were covered in snow, roads were slippery, which exacerbated the fun. Commuters who will be taking their cars without proper precautions could face slippery roads.

On Monday, Murree temperature spanned between -1 to 7 degrees with chill in the air intensified, setting the stage for a wonderland.
PMD cautioned people with heavy snowfall in upper regions, including Murree, over the next 36 to 72 hours, and to avoid any accident, police and local administration took all necessary arrangements.
In 2024, over a dozen facility centers have been formed to facilitate Murree. DC Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi visited several regions including Mall Road, where his team reviewed arrangements.
Pakistan Meteorological Department shared forecast rain spell in Kashmir, KP, and parts of northwest areas accompanied by snow in the mountains.
