Quetta, Balochistan weather update; more rains likely

QUETTA –The Pakistan Meteorological department (PMD) has forecast rainfall of varying intensities for Quetta and parts of Balochistan on Friday evening/night.

As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave prevails over Balochistan which is likely to approach western parts of the country today.

Under these conditions, cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province with rain and snowfall over hills in Quetta, Zhob, Chaman, Ziarat, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Pashin, Mastung, Harnai, Sibbi, Noshki, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran and coastal areas of Makran on Friday evening/night.

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan on Saturday and Sunday.

Partly cloudy and extremely cold weather is likely in northern Balochistan.

Light rain/drizzle is likely in coastal areas of Makran.

In Quetta, minimum temperature is likely to remain between -01-01 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, parts of Balochistan received rainfall of varying intensities during the last 24 hours.

Quetta and Kalat remained the coldest places in Balochistan where mercury dropped to freezing point.

In Quetta, relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.

In Kalat, relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.
