The Emergency Block of Punjab Institute of Cardiology has become completely new in a record period of 6 weeks and 50 beds have been added. Chief Minister Punjab MohsinNaqvi visited PIC and inaugurated state-of-the-art new emergency. The record of patients will be preserved forever through the latest computerized system namely Hospital Information Management System. CM paid a detailed visit to the newly upgraded emergency and inquired about provision of facilities for the cardiac patients.
Mohsin Naqvi inspected ICU, Echo Room and other facilities. He checked the quality of new beds and directed to improve facilities in the wash room for the abled persons. CM monitored the newly formulated system till the arrival of patients at the reception up to their treatment. He directed to put plants at the adjacent place to the corridor. He directed to ensure the provision of cardiac monitoring system at every bed. MohsinNaqvi while lauding the provision of latest facilities at the emergency commended the performance of Secretary Health, Secretary C&W, Commissioner / DG LDA, hospital administration and the whole team.
CM after inaugurating the upgradation of the PIC emergency and while talking with the media said that not only Lahore but the whole Punjab will be benefited with the upgradaiton of the PIC emergency. Doctors, officials of C&W, LDA Health Department and other teams used to visit PIC day and night and undertook monitoring of its upgradation. By the Grace of Allah Almighty , the emergency of PIC has been upgraded in six weeks and all the teams worked day and night. The Ministers, Secretaries undertook monitoring of the upgradation till 3.00 a.m. night. Mohsin Naqvi stated that he wants to apprise with pride that no imported items has been used in the upgradation project.
All the gadgets and equipments which have been used during the upgradation are made in Pakistan. All the tiles being installed at the floor cost half the price. There are many precedents of austerity in the upgradation projects. Every project costs half the price then the stipulated price. If the cost of a project is Rs.40 crore then only Rs.30 crores have been spent after making saving. CM said that state of the art lab is established at PIC. Excellent testing service will be provided at the PIC lab at a half price then the market price.
We are undertaking measures to reduce the waiting list of cardiac bypass patients. We want that patients do not need to wait for long. CM apprised that the third floor of PIC will soon be completed. The friends of PIC are building a sarai. The OPD and Irfan Block of PIC is being upgraded.
Mohsin Naqvi informed that he would inaugurate Children Hospital Multan. Look at the old pictures of hospital and look at them after thereupgradation as you will see a complete change. Work on the Holy Family Hospital is being done day and night due to which doctors are facing difficulties and it will soon be completed. He said that the treatment process did not close down even during the upgradation work nor any patient went back without undergoing treatment.
The other hospitals of Rawalpindi have shared the burden of the Holy Family Hospital patients. By the Grace of Allah Almighty, more than 100 hospitals after their upgradation will be handed over to the administration by 31 January. Insha Allah inauguration of some projects will be done daily. Hospital Information Management System has been launched across Punjab from today. There was already HIMS in Jinnah Hospital and it has been launched in PIC today. Lot of delay was caused due to token system. CM highlighted that introducing the Hospital Information Management System and implementing it was a difficult task.PITB after putting in a hard labour has introduced HIMS.
I went to Bahria Hospital few months ago and after witnessing facilities over their decided to introduce such a high quality in the hospitals of Punjab. Thanks of Allah Almighty, look at the condition of private Bahria Hospital today and look at PIC as they will both look similar. CM stated that the hospitals have been upgraded and requested the doctors and nurses to maintain its present condition.
