‘Disgraceful’: Manhandling of Shah Mahmood Qureshi by Punjab police widely condemned

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s ex-foreign minister and senior PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi was detained soon after he stepped outside of Adiala prison today on Wednesday.

The clip of his forceful arrest went viral on social media and appeared in top trends as people from all walks of life condemned the manhandling by senior police officials.

Qureshi was released from jail in a cipher case but he faced another arrest outside Adiala Jail.

Videos shared online show Mr Qureshi recording his statement before his release. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police officials refused to listen and proceeded to shove him out the gate and took him in an armored vehicle.

While being dragged by police officials, Qureshi can be heard sharing his ordeal. PTI leader said cops were making a mockery of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

As the video clip of the senior politician went viral,  it triggered a huge outcry on social media as people strongly condemned his ‘disgraceful arrest’.
