The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has said that the BJP-led Indian government has always betrayed the Kashmiri people by giving them hallow assurances.
According to Kashmir Media Service, NC leaders while addressing a meeting of party workers held in Jammu said that there was a situation of unrest and chaos across the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir as a result of the misleading policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The meeting was organised by Sardar Parvinder Singh Block President Gandhi Nagar, Chander Mohan Sharma District President Jammu Urban JKNC, Jammu, in which senior leaders of the party including Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Additional General Secretary of JKNC and Rattan Lal Gupta were the main speakers.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, accused “the double engine government” for betraying the refugees of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly those from Azad Kashmir.
“These refugees have been feeling deceived. The commitment made to them by the BJP-led govern-ment has not been fulfilled. The plight of over 36,000 refugee families in Jammu remains unad-dressed,” he said. Addressing the party workers, Rattan Lal Gupta called on the party’s workers to actively counter the misleading campaigns propagated by BJP leaders, emphasizing the growing unrest and chaos prevalent across the region which added to the turmoil.
He said that it is our duty as members of the Na-tional Conference to step up and counter these negative narratives with truth and integrity. He urged the party workers to engage directly with the public, and said, “Our role is not just to contest elections but to be the voice of the people.”—KMS
