Illegally detained Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Masarrat Alam Butt has said that any kind of derogatory remarks against the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (SAW) cannot be tolerated by Muslims as the reverence and honour of the Khatamun Nabiyeen is greater than our own lives.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Masarrat Alam Butt in his message from the notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi said that a Hindu student, studying at the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, posted a blasphemous video about the Prophet (PBUH) that hurt the sentiments of the entire Muslim Ummah.

He said the heinous act is a systematic attempt by Hindutva followers to damage the harmonious Hindu-Muslim relations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said the extremist BJP government is not only in India but also in occupied Jammu and Kashmir to advance its Hindutva agenda.

The APHC Chairman demanded strict punishment for the Hindu student, adding that the attempt to injure the sentiments of Muslims regarding Islam and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) would be extremely dangerous.

Masarrat Alam Butt expressed concern over the increasing atrocities of the Indian Army in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said that due to the criminal silence of the world, India is continuously committing human rights violations in the territory. He said India has waged a war against the innocent people of Kashmir and it has intensified its atrocities after August 5, 2019 when the Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory.

The APHC Chairman appealed to international human rights organizations to raise their voices against Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
