Two female students were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a private college bus on MultanRoad near Mohlinwal area of Sunder in Lahore on Tuesday.
According to police reports, the college bus was carrying students on a trip to Kashmir when the attack occurred.
The motorcyclists, who remain unidentified, fired multiple shots at the bus, injuring two female students identified as Ayesha and Nimra.
The students were immediately rushed to the Lahore General Hospital for treatment. Student Taysha, who sustained critical injuries in the firing incident, is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the General Hospital.
Sundar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of the incident involving the firing on a bus of a private college in Mohlanwal, a suburb of Lahore.
The CM sought a report from Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore and directed that the accused who fired should be arrested soon.
The girl students, injured as a result of the firing, should be provided with the best treatment facilities, he directed.
