In what could be termed as a major blow to the Pakistan People’s Party, senior leaders of the party have announced parting ways with the PPP.
Former Federal Minister Arbab Alamgir and his wife Asma Alamgir have formally declared their departure from the party on the day PPP Chairman was in Peshawar to address the workers’ convention, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership and internal conflicts.
Asma Alamgir has also resigned from her role as the Central Deputy Information Secretary of the party. She expressed her discontent with the party’s performance and highlighted the growing discord among its members.
“The party is suffering due to incompetent leadership, and it is with a heavy heart that Arbab Alamgir and I have decided to part ways,” she said, emphasizing the internal strife within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch of the party.
She further elaborated on the longstanding issues she had raised with party leaders regarding the worsening situation. Despite informing them multiple times, she lamented that her concerns were not addressed.
