Another member of Sikh community and his 11-year-old son were killed in Edmonton city of Canada.

Harpreet Singh Uppal, 41, and his son were shot dead in broad daylight in their vehicle on Thursday outside a gas station at a shopping plaza.

Edmonton police said that both succumbed to their injuries on the spot. Another boy who was in the vehicle survived. The members of Sikh community in Canada have said that Indian government agents might be involved in the killing of Harpreet and his son.

It is to be mentioned here that the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, in a statement in the Parliament in September revealed the involvement of Indian government agents in the killing of a Sikh leader, Hardeep Singh Nijjar. A prominent leader of Khalistan movement, Nijjar was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey city of British Columbia on June 18, this year. Since Trudeau’s announcement, the diplomatic ties between Canada and India are tense.—INP
