In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have paid glowing tributes to the Jammu martyrs of November 1947 and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve that sacrifices of the martyrs will not go waste.

According to Kashmir Media Service, hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were massacred by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian Dogra army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.

The jailed APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Irfani, paying glowing tributes to the Jammu martyrs, appealed to the United Nations and other human rights organisations to take notice of such carnages by Indian troops in the occupied territory and settle the lingering dispute for establishment of permanent peace in the region.

He said, “We are custodians of the martyrs’ mission and only by evicting India from Kashmir can fulfill their mission. India, under a well-organized conspiracy, brutally demonstrated its nefarious intentions by killing innocent Kashmiris under the supervision of the then administration through its terror forces.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of United Peace Alliance, Mir Shahid Saleem, speaking at a special programme organized in Jammu to mark the Jammu Martyrs Day, said that the cold-blooded murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent and unarmed Muslims at the hands of fascist forces was the worst example of ethnic cleansing in the human history.

He said what hurts more is that no action was taken against those communal forces, responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims. He added that the best tribute to the victims of the Jammu massacre would be to strive for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja, in a statement in Srinagar said November 6 is a day of renewal for all Kashmiris and the sacrifices of these martyrs will not be allowed to go waste.

Hurriyat leaders Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Advocate Muzamil, Shabbir Ahmed and Ghulam Nabi War in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said Kashmiri people will always remember the great sacrifice of Jammu martyrs

APHCAJK chapter leaders Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Qazi Imran, Syed Gulshan Ahmed in their statements, paying tributes to the November 6 Jammu martyrs, said the people of Kashmir are still sacrificing their lives for Kashmir cause and consider it an honour to be buried in green cloth.—KMS
