ESA trains DM students, volunteers

The Emergency Services Academy (ESA) organised training for students of MS Disaster Management University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and volunteers of VSO Pakistan to enhance professional skills of emergency preparedness, response, and prevention of future practitioner of urban planning, disaster management and volunteers.
In this regard, a closing the ceremony of CADRE training was held at Managers Training Center ESA on Friday, which was attended by UET Department of City & Regional Planning Chairman Prof Dr Shakir Mahmood, Barkat Youth Resilience, and Humanitarian Coordinator VSO Pakistan, Registrar Academy, Head of Safety and all participants.
While addressing the ceremony, Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan said that right city planning was essential to prevent disasters in the future. In this regard, practical training of disaster management students and volunteers was need of the hour to have a better understanding of the hazards identification, taking appropriate mitigation measures and safety promotion.
