Gunmen rob Rs8.7m from bank

The First Information Report (FIR) of a bank robbery of over Rs8.7 million has been registered on the complaint of a bank manager. The police have initiated a probe into the matter. The incident happened in Shadman Town of Karachi, where six robbers entered into a private bank assaulted the bank’s security guard and managed to flee with the security guard’s weapon with impunity.The FIR was registered under the section related to robbery. It stated that the robbers entered the bank at 2:50 p.m., and one of the accused after picking up the deposit slip, pulled out a weapon. Three dacoits made hostage guard and asked staff to go inside.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) JunaidShaikh while refusing initial reports of four gunmen confirmed that six robbers came on three motorcycles, and got away with Rs8.7 million rupees as the security guard didn’t put up much resistance.He added that if the police will feel the need, they also will investigate with employees to extend the circle of investigation.

However, the heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene with Sindh Caretaker Interior Minister Brig (retd) Haris Nawaz directed the authorities over the lack of police patrolling in the area.
