Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori presided over the special convocation of Indus University at the Governor House. The Consul Generals of UAE BakheetAteeq Al Remeithi, Oman Sami Abdullah Saleem Al Khanjari and prominent personalities who have played distinctive roles in various fields of life were awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy and gold medals.
While addressing the special convocation, the Governor Sindh said that during past one year and with the support of all the stakeholders of Sindh started the innovative programs for the prosperity of the province and the country.
Tessori further said that the doors of Governor House are opened for the general public as we are here to serve and address the grievances. “These degrees and medals are being given to appreciate the contributions of those who have prominently served in this province,” the Governor added. Governor Sindh said that the Consul General of UAE BakheetAtiq Al-Romethi has served as brother and a friend to Pakistan. For the past two decades his services are highly commendable.
“Similarly, the friendship of the Consul General of Oman is also unmatched”, Tessori said. Presenting the doctor honoriscausa to his father Akhtar Khan Tessori, the Governor Sindh said that it is the honor for him. “Whatever I am today is due to my father, who has always supported me in all my endeavors”, he remarked.
Sindh Governor said that these honorary degrees were to be given by Chairman of the Senate, but he could not come being abroad. Consul Generals of UAE and Oman, Chief Executive of Tessori Group, Muhammad AkhtarTessori, Maulana Bashir Farooqui of Saylani Trust, Zafar Abbas of JDC IT Expert, Sir Ziaullah Khan and others were awarded the honorary degrees during the special convocation. Gold medals were also awarded to various Consul generals, Vice Chancellors of Universities and members of business community.
In the concluding remarks, the Chancellor Indus University thanked the guests, participants of the ceremony and eminent personalities who received honorary degrees and appreciated the education-friendly policies of the Governor Sindh.
