Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe October 27 as Black Day to convey a strong message to the world that they reject illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, it was on 27th October in 1947 when Indian troops had invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent and against the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Call for observance of the day has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. The APHC has also appealed for complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on October 27.
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar called upon the international community to wake up from deep slumber and take practical steps to hold a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir as per the UN Security Council resolutions to enable the Kashmiris exercise their right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India created hurdles in the implementation of the plebiscite by refusing to withdraw its troops from the occupied territory.—INP
