Incarcerated General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Molvi Bashir Irfani, has hailed the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for raising the Kashmir dispute in the UN General Assembly.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Molvi Bashir Irfani in a message from Srinagar central jail said the mentioning of the Kashmir dispute in his address to the UNGA by President Erdogan is a proof of his deep commitment to the Kashmiri people. He said, history is a witness to the fact that the Turkish President always raised his voice for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute at every forum.
The APHC leader said that the Kashmiri people appreciate Türkiye’s efforts for the settlement of the lingering dispute. “Türkiye has always openly supported the freedom struggle of Kashmiris and has played a significant role in raising awareness at the global level about the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue,” he said.
The imprisoned leader expressed serious concern over the grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to the world community to hold New Delhi accountable for its atrocities on the Kashmiris.
Molvi Bashir Irfani urged India to give up its intransigence on the Kashmir dispute and take steps for its peaceful settlement. He called upon the world leaders to come forward in a big way and impress upon India to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.—KMS
