Seminar held to mark Int’l Literacy Day in Thatta

A seminar to mark the World Literacy Day was held at Government Boys High School Akhund Baradia with a resolute aim to persuade parents to enroll their children who are currently out of school in government educational institutions.

The event also provided a platform for reflecting on the pivotal role of literacy in fostering a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable society. The seminar was attended by individuals, including senior department officials, dedicated educators, students, and community members from various walks of life. Addressing on the occasion, the chief guest, District Education Officer Thatta, Huzoor Bux Khaskheli, DDEO Shafique Aarain, and Senior Head Masters Nizamuddin Khudai, Bisharat Illyas Jokhio, senior teachers Maqbool Nahiyo, Imdad Hussain Qureshi, and Naeem Shafi Aarain and other speakers emphasized that literacy extends beyond the mere act of reading and writing.

It serves as the key that unlocks opportunities, empowers individuals, and ultimately transforms societies. Recognizing literacy as a fundamental prerequisite for both individual and societal development, they stressed that educated communities play a pivotal role in driving social and economic progress while upholding lasting peace and stability. Furthermore, they urged parents to take advantage of the government’s commitment to providing free.
