Hurriyat leaders and organizations in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir have expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiri political leaders in jails and demanded their immediate release.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social Forum (JKYSF), Maulana Musaib Nadvi, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that they wanted peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute while the Indian government was silencing political voice of the Kashmiris through its military might.

He demanded release of all political detainees languishing in different jails of IIOJK and in India.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement in Srinagar also appealed to the United Nations to play its role in the release of all Kashmiris illegally detained in various jails in India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The statement expressed regret that thou-sands of innocent Kashmiris have been illegally detained by the Indian authorities for demanding the right to self-determination.—KMS
