Culture, music vital mediums to connect nations: Envoy

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Park Kijun has mentioned culture and music as two incredibly important mediums of connecting different people from all across the globe. “Culture is one of the many unifying factors between the people of Pakistan and Korea,” said he. He was addressing the 2023 K-POP Festival in Pakistan, recently organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and held at the Pakistan National Council of Arts. The ambassador who joined only a month ago appreciated the performances of all the participants and performers. The 2023 K-POP Festival had a special significance this time as this year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Korea and Pakistan.

He said such festivals should be held frequently as they enhance people-to-people interactions and further strengthen the relations between two countries. His Excellency shared that he was quite hopeful and optimistic in regards to the future of the bilateral ties between Korea and Pakistan.

The K-POP Festival was a big success as a huge number of people attended and enjoyed the exhilarating performances of young K-POP fans. The 2023 K-POP Festival in Pakistan was attended by Head of the Department of Korean Language and Culture Mr. Ahtisham Hussain, representatives from different Korean companies, and a large number of students and K-POP fans.

Dr. Atif Faraz, Director of the King Sejong Institute, Ms. Saima Sallahuddin, Assistant Professor at National Council of Arts, and Ms. Ayesha Durrani, Associate Professor at National Council of Arts were the judges for the 2023 K-POP Festival in Pakistan. The K-POP Festival had two categories Vocal and Dance. The performers from both categories performed extremely well. All the participants were very well aware about the Korean K-POP culture. The winners from both Vocal and Dance categories were given by gift prizes.
