A prisoner reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from iron fences in Camp Jail. Identified as Mudasar, a resident of Hafizabad, the prisoner was facing life imprisonment in a murder case.
According to the initial reports, Mudasar arranged a piece of cloth from somewhere and used it to end his life.
The Punjab Inspector General of Prisons suspended from service assistant superintendent jail Mohammad Maalik and chief head warder Mohammad Rafique over negligence.
Issuing a notification, he said that both the employees have been placed under suspension for a period of 90 days on account of negligence and inefficiency.
