India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency continues its crackdown in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to victimize the Kashmiris for their affiliation with the ongoing freedom movement.
The NIA sleuths accompanied by Indian Army, paramilitary and police personnel have been conducting house raids and searches in Pulwama, Awantipora, Shopian, Islamabad, Sopore, Baramulla and other areas from time to time for last several days. The residents of these areas told the media that these operations by the NIA and Indian forces’ personnel have created an atmosphere of fear where people are feeling insecure. They said that several youth have been arrested during the last few days.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership has said that the Narendra Modi-led Indian government has snatched all basic rights and freedoms of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. APHC leaders including Mir Shahid Saleem, Noor Muhammad Fayaz, Mohammad Huzaif, Dr Musaib, and Muhammad Aqib in their statements deplored that the Modi regime is using its military, police and probe agencies to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission. However, they added that the Kashmiri people are determined to carry on their struggle till they achieve their right to self-determination.
The continued house arrest of senior APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, for the last almost four years and ban on his political, social and religious activities is the glaring example of how India is denying the Kashmiris their basic rights. The Mirwaiz, who has been under house detention since August 05, 2019, was not allowed to offer Juma prayers on 204th consecutive Friday, today.
Indian police arrested two persons from Now-gam in Srinagar and Imam Sahib area of Shopian district. A soldier of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force died of cardiac arrest in Larnoo area of Islamabad district of the occupied territory.
A panel discussion held in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, while shedding light on various dimensions of the Kashmir dispute called for an immediate cessation of human rights violations by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The event was organized by the Ankara-based Institute of Strategic Thinking. The panelists included Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Yousaf Junaid, and head of Institute of Strategic Thinking, Guray Alpar.—KMS
