Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Punjab Dr. Jamal Nasir directed the administration and WASA to work on an emergency basis to clean all tributaries and to take strict measures to remove the illegal encroachments on the banks of the drains. He said that the encroachments hinder the flow of water in the drains due to which the flooding is caused in these areas, so strict and effective action should be taken against the encroachments and zero tolerance should be shown in this regard He said this during his visit to QademiQabristan, DhokeElahiBakhsh and Sadiqabad areas and examined the flow of water in tributaries of Nullah Leh. He said that encroachments on drains cause urban flooding and endanger human life and property, so those behind encroachments do not deserve any leniency. He said that departmental action will also be taken against the officers and officials who fail to remove encroachment and a policy of zero tolerance in this regard is being pursued. Along with Dr. Jamal Nasir, Assistant Commissioner City Dr. Zunera and officers of WASA and other relevant departments were also present. Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir also spoke to the citizens and discussed with them the problems of water flow.
