FCCU women shine with outstanding achievements

FC College University takes great pride in celebrating the extraordinary achievements of three remarkable women associated with the institution.

Maryyam Qasim Khan from Forman School of Management, Dr. Sara Rizvi Jafree, Chair of the Department of Sociology, and Eisha Mehtab, FCCU’s current student, have demonstrated exceptional talent and transformational leadership, in their respective fields.

Their outstanding accomplishments not only reflect their personal brilliance but also exemplify the university’s commitment to empowering women and fostering excellence.

Ms. Maryyam Qasim Khan, has been honored with the esteemed ‘Women in Management Top 50 Global Award.’ This prestigious award celebrates Ms. Maryyam’s outstanding achievements, surpassing 500 exceptional women entrepreneurs from around the world. Her exemplary leadership in women’s development and entrepreneurship, particularly as the Vice President of the South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) Pakistan Chapter, has garnered international acclaim. Ms. Maryyam’s visionary approach and unwavering commitment to empowering women continue to inspire and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable world.

This significant recognition brings immense pride not only to Ms. Maryyam herself but also to Pakistan and FCCU.

Dr. Sara Rizvi Jafree, an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology, has made significant contributions to the field of social sciences. Her latest book, “Social Policy for Women in Pakistan” (Macmillan, 2023), offers profound insights into the policy challenges faced by Pakistani women, providing regionally relevant recommendations across various aspects of private and public life. This groundbreaking work is expected to be a valuable resource for scholars, students, and policymakers in the field of gender and policy studies in South Asia and has received excellent reviews from different parts of the world.

On the global stage, Eisha Mehtab, a 22-year-old student and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and mental health awareness, has been honored with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award.

Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, this prestigious award recognizes Eisha’s outstanding work in Pakistan. Coming from a challenging background and having experienced harassment, Eisha co-founded ‘The Mirror’ at the tender age of 17, providing a powerful platform for women to confidently express themselves.
