Relatives of a man protested in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after he was found hanging from a pole.

The body of a 30-year-old man, Parveen Kumar, was found hanging from a pole at Bareri village in Nowshera area of the district. A resident of Jammu’s Khour area, Kumar was working as a salesman and living on rent along with his wife and a child.

His relatives first staged a protest outside Now-shera police station and later blocked the Jammu-Poonch Highway near Nowshera bridge. They de-manded a thorough probe into his death. The pro-testers dispersed after assurance from the police officers who visited the scene that the investigation into the matter has already been initiated.

Meanwhile, a protest march was taken out in Udhampur town of Jammu region against unsched-uled power cuts. A large number of people partici-pated in the protest, which was taken out from Sub-ash Park to the DC Office while passing through the entire town. The protesters displayed their collective resentment against the recent implementation of an unscheduled and unwarranted power curtailment schedule issued by the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (JPDCL).

A similar protest was held in Jammu city against Public Development Department (PDD) for un-scheduled power cuts and charging heavy power tariffs.—KMS
