The Pakistani security forces during an Intelligence Based Operation on Wednesday gunned down at least two wanted terrorists in the South Waziristan tribal district.

The killed terrorists were involved in the not bony killing the innocent civilians but also carried out subversive activities against the forces. The forces also seized ammunition and weapons from the possession of the militants.

“The Security forces conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation Wednesday in the general area of Dossali in South Waziristan district after receiving a tip-off about the presence of terrorists.

“During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in the killing of two terrorists”.

The Inter-Services Public Relations communiqué issued on Wednesday said adding weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists.

The military’s media wing said that the terrorists were actively involved in activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.

“The sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR communiqué concluded.
