Pakistan has signed MoUs with 325 Chinese universities under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while 581 Pakistanis have availed Chinese scholarships under the mega initiative.
This was disclosed by Dr Safdar Ali, Director General CPEC Cell at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), according to Gwadar Pro.
He was addressing inaugural session of 3-day international conference on sustainable food security solutions, at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), being held in collaboration with the South China Agriculture University (SCAU), Guangzhou and the University of Karachi, under CPEC Consortium of Universities.
Dr Safdar said that collaboration with China in agriculture sector will improve food security in Pakistan. He said that under CPEC, 113 trainings have been conducted with Chinese Universities and 19,000 individuals have been trained in Chinese language.
