Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that our descent into fascism is commenced last year on May 25 when we faced the full force of state terror, as houses were broken in the middle of the night and PTI office-bearers and workers were kidnapped. In a statement on Thursday, PTI Chairman said: “Some of us thought it was one off but that was just the beginning, as today the largest and the only Federal party is facing the full fury of state power without any accountability.”
However, he said that the state was hell-bent to dismantle the PTI and trying party members in military courts on the pretext of the May 9 arson, which was condemned by entire PTI leadership. Contrary to it, Imran Khan said that during 3.5 years of PTI government, three long marches of PDM were allowed without any hindrance. However, he said that PTI faced the full force of state terror on May 25 last year, which was the beginning of our descent into fascism.
PTI Chairman said that houses were broken in the middle of the night and PTI office-bearers and workers were kidnapped. He went on to say that whoever got to Islamabad faced worst tear gas, rubber bullets and police brutality. Imran Khan stated that over 10,000 PTI workers and supporters in jail including senior leadership and some facing custodial torture.
Imran Khan reminded that those in PDM and the journalist community who were cheerleaders for this yazeediyat should know that this is not dismantling PTI but our democracy i.e. our freedom. “However this attempt to enslave us will fail as we have a politically aware young population who despite media being muzzled gets its information from Social Media,” he added.
