Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan Sunday visited Allama Iqbal International Airport and went to international arrivals lounge to oversee precautionary measures taken by CAA in view of coronavirus outspread and interacted with federal government health officials.
Later, the minister took briefing from P&D director and APM regarding status of new car park/access roads and upcoming projects. The director briefed the minister about progress on the projects and its salient features. He said it was a state-of-the-art car parking with computerised system for locating vehicles and was fully equipped with closed circuit cameras.
The minister also visited Cargo Throughput Charges (CTC) control room and Cargo Complex (import/export) sheds and took briefing on cargo operations.
The minister appreciated the efforts taken by CAA in improving airport operations and emphasised on better public facilitation in lines with the vision of the prime minister.
