Pakistan to be success story for tourism in coming years: Italian envoy

MULTAN Italian Ambassador in Pakistan Stefano Pontecarvo said here Friday that Pakistan was a safe place to visit and expressed his belief that the country would emerge as a success story for tourism in the coming years. He was talking to the media before he inaugurated a monument,‘Musafir Khana’, along with parliamentary secretary for information and culture and Chairman Walled City Project Multan (WCPM) MPA Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi and Deputy Commissioner Amir Khatak at Darbar Musa Pak Shaheed. ‘I would recommend to my citizens what I’ve already recommendedcome and see this beautiful city, come and see this beautiful country,’ the ambassador said. ‘And it is a lot safer than before.’ He added: ‘I am certainly aware of it. I’ve been here for four-and-a-half year and certainly see very very big improvement.’ Stefano Pontecarvo said that Pakistan has a lot to offer in tourism sector, adding that country’s authorities were also aware of its strengths.
