The caretaker provincial minister for industry and commerce SM Tanveer visited Faisalabad and presided over the meeting of the committees set up to solve the problems of farmers. Commissioner Faisalabad Silwat Saeed was also present. The commissioner said that the problems of farmers in the division are solving very fastly. The efforts of the supervising provincial minister in this regard are commendable. The provincial minister said that the progress in solving the problems of farmers and traders is being continuously monitored and
steps will be taken to restore the District Agricultural Advisory Committee and Task Force Committees. He said that availability of fertilizers to farmers, prevention of water theft incidents, issues related to FESCO are being resolved. The provincial minister said that the sugarcane farmers payments should be ensured in all cases.
He directed the Assistant Director of Agricultural Marketing of the division to ensure 100% prices of farmers’ commodity in vegetable and fruit markets
and said that the exploitation of farmers is not tolerated, the farmer is prosperous, then the country will develop. There is a need to pay full attention to the agricultural sector, which is the backbone of the national economy. Later, the provincial industry minister presided over the traders meeting. Commissioner Silwat Saeed was also present. The provincial minister constitutes the 6 committees to listen and solve the problems. He announced the establishment of separate committees and said that it is a priority to solve the problems of traders on a priority basis.
