LAHORE – Several celebrities continue to remain up in arms against coalition government members despite some of them rubbing shoulders with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leaders.

One such case made headlines in local media as a senator of PML-N passed comments over the recent statement of veteran Pakistani actor Mahira Khan and iconic writer Anwar Maqsood.

It all started with the Raees star throwing weight behind ousted premier Imran Khan. Besides praising PTI chief, Mahira said two women, which Anwar Maqsood picked as Maryam Nawaz and Marriyum Aurangzeb, fight, scream, and giving each other poison. Why?”

Anwar Maqsood however clears the air that he is just giving an example, calling it a brilliant example.

The unusual conversation draws the ire of ruling party Senator Dr. Afnan Ullah Khan, who could not refrain himself of passing derogatory remarks against the top showbiz icons.

Taking it to Twitter, the senator said Mahira Khan has a mental health problem, calling Anwar Maqsood an old drunk man, and a cursed character full of prejudice. He said these shameless characters are cursed by the masses and even mentioned that books can be written on Mahira Khan’s character, accusing her blatantly of cajoling Indian actors for financial gains.

Social media users and showbiz stars could not handle such vile statements from the senator. As the matter garnered heat, several stars including Adnan Siddiqui, and Farhan Saeed vent out their anger.
