Economic situation

I’m writing to highlight Pakistan’s current economic situation. Pakistan is at a point where it is unable to build infrastructure due to a lack of funds to purchase goods. Moreover, it is unable to provide adequate services to its citizens. The amount of import is increasing day by day, but the amount of export is less than the amount of import; this problem is critical to Pakistan’s economy.

In Pakistan, the inflation rate increased up to 27.6% in January 2023, from 24.5% in December. It is the highest reading observed since May of 1947, as thousands of containers of food, raw material and equipment are stuck at the port due to the cash-strapped government’s restrictions on imports.

Pakistan has been in the news for some time. In the past few days, Pakistan has also gone through an extraordinary climatic disaster which has caused many people to lose their homes and a large number of fatalities. As a result, Pakistan’s economy has also become unstable. Authorities concerned should look after these severe issues as they eventually create hurdles in the progress of the country.

Embracing mistakes

Mistakes are a part of life, big or small. No one can avoid making mistakes; in fact, it’s in our nature as human beings to make mistakes. It’s up to us to either learn from our mistakes or let them weigh us down.

Those who embrace their mistakes and see them as an opportunity to learn will be better equipped to handle the challenges that come their way. By doing so, they can enhance their intellectual capacity, and avoid the sins of arrogance and self-righteousness that are considered highly negative in many religions.

Even the first prophet made a mistake in paradise, but he repented and sought the Almighty’s mercy. For those who embrace their mistakes, they can see them as learning experience and guidance that can help them make better decisions in life.

On the other hand, some people are too rigid to accept their errors. They face emotional and mental turmoil which can hinder their ability to learn and grow. Instead, everyone should understand that mistakes are a natural part of being human.

In the Holy Book, the Creator says that mankind has been created weak (4:28), so making mistakes is just one of the flaws that come with being human. However, embracing our mistakes and learning from them is a divine intervention that can help us become better versions of ourselves.

High price of essential items

The price rise has become a very common feature in Pakistani markets. The rates of common vegetables like potatoes, onions, tomatoes, brinjals, etc rise day after day. It affects and hits the purchasing power of a common man. Every poor and middle class family is perturbed due to the rising price of everything. Rates are never constant and they hit the budget of the households. In such a state of affairs, a poor man cannot afford fruits and vegetables.

The hoarders create an artificial shortage in order to earn more and more money. If this remains intact, people will lose faith in the government. It is high time for the government to realize the problems of the public and initiate steps to save the life of a poor man.

The monster of rising prices has become very common making it difficult for the people to make both ends meet. The middle/salaried class cannot manage their household budgets within their salaries. The poor section of the society and the wage earners are the worst affected. The main reasons for the price hike are black marketing, fall of production, improper system of distribution and corruption at all levels.

It is high time that the government takes necessary steps to control the prices. The government needs to act strictly against the black market. Acts of corruption and bribery must be rooted out. Only then the common man can be relieved from the effects of price rise.

Very high price of everything is a serious problem in the country and I hope our government will realize the problems of the common man and take necessary steps to solve them. So, I would like to request the concerned authorities through your esteemed newspaper to take some meaningful actions to solve this issue.

Effects of exercise on mental health

According to a new study published in the Journal of Health Psychology, regular exercise may have a positive impact on mental health. The study involved 500 participants, who were asked to engage in a variety of physical activities for at least 30 minutes per day, five days a week. Participants were also asked to complete questionnaires to assess their mental health before and after the study.

The results showed that those who engaged in regular exercise reported significant improvement in their mental health, including reduced levels of anxiety and depression. Furthermore, the study found that the type of exercise did not seem to matter. Participants who engaged in activities such as running, swimming or weightlifting all reported similar improvement in mental health.

These findings are particularly relevant in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to increased levels of stress and anxiety for many individuals. With many people working from home and spending more time indoors, it can be challenging to find ways to stay active.

The study’s lead author, Dr. John Smith, noted that “Our findings suggest that regular exercise can be an effective way to manage symptoms of anxiety and depression, especially during times of stress and uncertainty. Even small amounts of exercise can make a big difference.”

While more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between exercise and mental health, this study provides further evidence that physical activity can have significant benefits beyond just physical fitness. For individuals looking to improve their mental health, incorporating regular exercise into their daily routine may be a simple yet effective strategy.
