Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 will continue its journey towards its spectacular end with Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators the latest teams to square off for a second time in this year’s competition.
Logically both the Kings and the Gladiators have only pride to fight for as the two teams currently sit 5th and 6th in the PSL 8 table respectively, with either side’s chances of making the playoffs hanging by the barest of threads.
But both sides have shown some decent improvements in recent games which should make for an exciting contest.
Here is all you need to know ahead of their match.
Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators PSL head-to-head record:
Quetta has used a recent string of positive results to surge ahead in this rivalry which they now lead 10 games to 5.
The Gladiators have won three of the last five encounters between the two teams as well.
When and where will the game take place?
Pindi Cricket Stadium will host the contest at 7:00 PM (PKT).
Players to watch:
Imad Wasim has quickly established himself as the backbone of Karachi’s batting lineup and he will be crucial for them yet again. The Kings will also look to Matthew Wade, Mohammad Amir and Tabraiz Shamsi to deliver them their third win of the season.
The Gladiators, meanwhile, have no clear clue where to look for inspiration.
Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz looked like their old selves in their previous game and Umar Akmal finally showed glimpses of his natural talent which may give them hope for a win.
Form:
Both Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators are on a losing streak in the ongoing PSL.
Karachi is on a two-game skid after dropping games to Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United while Quetta’s losing run is more expansive, with no wins in their past five games.
The Gladiators’ saving grace is that they already hold a win over Karachi this season which should boost their morale heading into the contest.
