In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah, has condemned the raids carried out by India’s Income Tax department officials on the BBC’s offices in New Delhi and Mumbai. In a statement issued in Srinagar termed the raids as unfortunate.

He said democracy is already under threat in India and IIOJK and media is being suppressed and these raids on BBC are an addition to this. India’s IT department officials raided the BBC’s Delhi and Mumbai offices on Tuesday, weeks after it released a two-part documentary titled ‘India: The Modi Question’ exposing Narendra Modi’s role in the anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat in 2002.—KMS
