Indian police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested ten people “who were evading their arrest from last two decades”, a charge refuted by the relatives of the detained people.
Police in a statement in Srinagar said that these ten persons were arrested In Pulwama.
“After strenuous efforts, special team were able to arrest 10 absconders who were evading their arrest from last two decades,” the police statement claimed.
The detained persons have been identified as Manzoor Ganai, Bashir Ganai, Aziz Bakshi, ulzar Sheikh, Mushtaq Ah Lone, all residents of Drabgam Rajpora, Javed Ahmad Shah, Abdul Hamid Parray, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Hamid Butt Mohammad Afzal Malik.
All the detainees were produced before the court,” the further said. The relatives of the detainees while talking to the media said that the detained persons were innocent and police’s claim was nothing but a hoax.—KMS
