Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan Tuesday brushed aside the assumptions that the deadly Peshawar suicide attack may lead to delay in the polls in the terror-hit province due to worsening law and order situation. Talking to newsmen after visiting the blast site in Police Lines on Tuesday the Chief Minister said the blast has nothing to do with polls adding the terror incidents were taking place much before the announcement of elections the chief minister said. Flanked by provincial police chief Moazzam Jah Ansari Cm was responding to the query if the elections could be postponed due to terrorism.
He observed that the terror incidents are taking place in KP’s Waziristan districts, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Tank areas. “My message to the people is to keep their spirits high. Such things are happening here for the last 40 years, this is not a new thing”. Azam Khan said. “Unfortunately the province has been faced with such incidents in the past too. People should stay satisfied; the situation would return to the normal, Insha-Allah”. The CM maintained.
He said that due to the Afghan war, we were facing the scourge of terrorism in formerly Fata and KP “We should pray to God that we would fight this menace and assured that the administration and police were taking steps to curb this menace. Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammed Azam Khan during his visit to Police Lines Peshawar inspected the place where a blast took place the other day, and reviewed the damages caused by the deadly blast and relief activities being carried out.
Addressing the Police personnel on the occasion, the chief minister said that the caretaker provincial government stood by the victims of the brutal incidents and will not leave them alone in these testing times. Every possible support and assistance would be extended to the bereaved families of martyred and injured”. He assured and added that the incident has left the whole nation gloomy and grieved. However, he said that such inhumane attempts cannot shatter the resolve of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
