In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that January will be remembered as the month of massacres in Kashmir’s history.

APHC senior leader Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar said Gaw Kadal massacre was the first and brutal of the present phase of the freedom movement. He said martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for great and sacred causes, are real heroes of the Kashmiri people.

Paying glowing tributes to Gaw Kadal and other martyrs of the freedom movement, the APHC leader vowed that supreme sacrifices and sacred blood of the martyrs would not go waste as the Kashmiris would never allow anyone to betray the martyrs’ blood. The best way to pay tributes to the martyrs is to carry forward their incomplete mission to its logical conclusion, he maintained

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar lamented that over six hundred thousand Kashmiris had been butchered by cruel Indian forces personnel to punish the Kashmiris for demanding their birthright. Kashmiris salute their martyrs for keeping the candle of freedom burning with their blood, he added.

APHC senior leader said that the Gaw Kadal massacre and numerous other such massacres carried out by occupation forces is a blot on India’s sham democracy.

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar also expressed concern over the criminal silence of the international community on the Kashmir situation and appealed to the world to play its role in permanent settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He also urged the UN to investigate Indian crimes in IIOJK and punish the involved people.

APHC leaders Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous and jailed leader Abdul Samad Inqilabi in their separate statements issued in Srinagar, paying tributes to the martyrs of Gaw Kadal tragedy, said sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs will bring fruit and the people of Kashmir will get rid of India’s slavery.

They said India has occupied the Jammu and Kashmir by force and has given a licence to its forces through draconian laws to kill the Kashmiri people. They said it is the apathy of the international community that till now India has not been questioned about such tragedies. They supported the strike call given by APHC on January 21 and appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe a complete strike against India on that day.
