In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous, have said that Kashmiris are rendering unprecedented sacrifices for securing freedom from Indian yoke and they will continue their struggle till complete success.

Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said as the so-called Republic Day of India, the 26th January, is approaching, the Indian forces’ personnel have intensified their atrocities on the Kashmiris making their life more miserable.

They said the people are being frisked in every nook and corner of the occupied territory and even women are not spared. They added that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory and India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in Kashmir.

Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous said that unless the Kashmir dispute was resolved according to the United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people, permanent peace could not be established in South Asia.

They appealed to the United Nations and the international community to force India to stop its atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute by giving them their right to self-determination.—KMS
