Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President and former Federal Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi demanded that political engineering is stopping Pakistan from progressing and that only a government with a public mandate can take the country forward. To illustrate that MQM reunification doesn’t pose a threat to PTI in Karachi. Mr. Zaidi quoted the voting results of NA-243, NA-244, NA-237 by-polls, and NA-245 by-polls. In each of these constituencies, the combined vote of the various MQM factions does not exceed PTI’s votes.

Ali Zaidi expresses these views while addressing to press on Friday at the PTI Sindh Secretariat on the postponement of the local government elections in Karachi and Hyderabad.  Former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Bilal Ghaffar, Khurrum Sher Zaman, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Ali Zaidi addressed the press conference by calling out PSP chief Mustafa Kamal for hypocrisy. He wondered if Mustafa Kamal’s allegations against MQM being a RAW agent were true, then why has Kamal come back in the lap of the MQM yesterday? Who is forcing Mustafa Kamal to reunite with the MQM?

PTI Sindh President labelled the various factions of MQM as aiders and abettors of Altaf Husain, as it was them who ordered party workers in the name of Altaf Husain to commit crimes like extortion, murder, robbery and land grabbing. And then they dare to call themselves the “protectors/champions” of Muhajirs. Without committing these, there is no way for Altaf Husain to own a home in London when he doesn’t work or for former federal Minister Babar Ghori to acquire assets and properties in the US.

Zaidi lashed out at the various factions of MQM for the killing and destruction of the Muhajir community in Karachi. Also, he pointed out that it was the MQM leaders who were confessing their crimes in front of Pakistan Rangers and identifying the criminal elements within their ranks.

PTI Sindh President also accused the MQM of frequently saving former President Asif Ali Zardari and the PPP from political messes. Furthermore, Mr. Zaidi pointed out that delimitation began in December 2021 and now it’s January 2023, thus, why MQM is harping about delimitation now? When MQM participated in the regime change operation in April 2022, why didn’t they make this matter part of their agreement with PDM?

Zaidi mocked the reunification of MQM factions saying that democratic parties don’t run away from elections but this must be the first alliance in history made to prevent an election from happening. Also, regarding the PPP under Asif Zardari, he stated that their only mission when they wake up each day is to find a way to loot Pakistan. The PTI Sindh President asked why all the law enforcement and security institutions that certified various JITs like Uzair Baloch, Nisar Morai, Omni Group and Baldia Town Factory fire are not pursuing these cases?

Former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that the fact that various local government elections were not being held in the country for various reasons. The Islamabad local elections were postponed due to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while the politics of the PPP and MQM have delayed the local elections in Karachi and Hyderabad for the fourth time.
