Women wing of UBG stands united: Samina

First meeting of the Women wing of United Business Group (UBG) held on Thursday through video link which was chaired by Samina Fazil, Chairperson and attended by a large number of members women wing, across Pakistan, including Ms. Saeeda Bano, Vice Chairperson Women wing, Ms. Robina Amjad, Chairperson Punjab, Ms. Ambreen Hoti, Chairperson KPK, Ms. Maryan Chaudhary, Chairperson Baluchistan, Ms. Rizwana Shahid, Chairperson Sindh, Ms. Naheed Masood, EC Member FPCCI, Ms. Shabnam Zafar, EC Member FPCCI, Ms. Farzana Birni, Ms Rukhsana Nadir, EC Member FPCCI, Ms Naima Ansari, Past Vice President – FPCCI Ms. Rizwana Asif President IWCCI, Ms. Qirat-ul-Aine GB member FPCCI.

In her welcome address Samina Fazil paid rich tributes to Late S M Muneer patron in-chief of UBG and reiterated that the members of women wing would follow his path. She said that women wing stands united under the leadership of UBG and determined to leave no stone unturned in uplifting the image of women entrepreneurs. She said that women entrepreneurs was considered as  a leading building block of economy as it played an important role in job creation, self-development and paid back as economic progress of country.

She further added that Pakistan being a developing country where women entrepreneurship and female participation in economic activities needed to be encouraged. She further revealed that complex policies and financial institutions procedures were the main reason of their failure to achieve their entrepreneurial objectives.

 

Samina Fazil further said that the office bearers of FPCCI 2022 now stand illegal and their existence in FPCCI is completely unlawful after amendment in the TOA by the National Assembly. The members of the meeting discussed at length the issues being faced by them and their chambers and they were of the view that main obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs were lack of confidence, less education, market awareness, mobility and financial constraints. They said that the policy makers should formulate and strategies in order to promote women entrepreneurs and their chambers. The members regretted that the women role in FPCCI

 

has been diminished and insignificant and no progress witnessed under the present management of FPCCI which has caused a great deal of frustration in the women circles which were confronted with many challenges.
