Admitting that the incumbent government was confronting extremely difficult situation, President of the Ruling alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Chief of his own faction of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam Maulana Fazl ur Rehman said the PDM expected smooth sailing yet things turned otherwise.
“The ruling alliance had absolutely no idea what quagmire it was stuck in when it took the charge of the government. More a person tries to get out of a swamp, the more he gets stuck in it”. The PDM president said while addressing the All Parties Conference (APC), convened by the JUI, in Peshawar on Sunday.
The JUI Supremo, however, claimed that the federal government was taking pragmatic steps to improve the worsening economic condition of the country.
Hitting hard on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Maulana said PTI was not capable enough to hold a long march or stage a protest against the incumbent government and claimed that political power of PTI has been exposed.
Maulana claimed that the former prime minister wanted to come back to power to “ruin the country” adding that the nation has no idea what PTI government have done to the country.
Criticizing KP and Punjab Maulana Fazal said that people there were deprived of their basic rights as the official resources of both provincial governments are being spent on Imran Khan. Maulana said unrest and target killing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was a cause of major concern. He also urged the provincial government of KP to make efforts for the restoration of peace in the tribal and urban areas.
The recommendations of the APC, that was not fully represented by even the PDM parties, Maulana said will be sent to the government adding those recommendations will be put before the National Security Committee (NSC).
