Despite granted bail by a special court of India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) to journalist, Fahad Shah, the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have not yet released him from long confinement.

Journalist Fahad Shah’s lawyer Umair Ronga said the editor of online portal ‘The Kashmir Walla’ was granted bail by a special court designated under the India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency Act, 2008.

Fahad Shah was arrested earlier this year on promoting human rights news on his online portal, The Kashmir Walla. Despite getting bail, he has not been released till last reports came in.

Special court designated under NIA granted bail to the chief editor of @tkwmag @pzfahad in Safakadal police station, Srinagar, and P/S Pulwama, lawyer Umair Ronga said in a tweet. He said there was still one case pending in Jammu against the journalist.

“We have also challenged his detention under the black law Public Safety Act (PSA). It will come up for hearing on December 15,” he added.—INP
