As the naked aggression from the Afghanistan continued, a soldier was martyred Sunday when the terrorists from the hostile neighbouring country launched attack on the Pakistani troops in the Kurram tribal district. The security forces also retaliated the ambush with full might inflicting heavy losses on the aggressors.

In fact it was the third attack from Afghanistan within short span of two weeks. Earlier on September 23 terrorists from Afghanistan launched assault on Pakistani troops in North Waziristan leaving a soldier martyred while a week before that on September 13 at least three Pakistani soldiers were martyred when terrorists from across Afghanistan opened fire on the troops stationed in general area of Kharlachi, Kurram District.

In the fresh incident, as the Inter Services Public Relations says the unknown terrorists from Afghanistan resorted to firing on the Pakistani troops in Kharlachi area of Kurram agency that led to the martyrdom of an Army man identified as Jamshed Iqbal aged 27 from Chiniot district.

The security forces retaliated the ambush effectively and inflicted heavy losses of lives on the attackers. The ISPR has condemned in strong words the fresh attack on Pakistani troops and using Afghan soil against Pakistan for carrying out terrorists activities. It called upon the Interim Afghan government to look into the matter seriously and ensure that such like incidents do not take place in the future.

Meanwhile Pakistan strongly condemned the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that the interim Afghan Government will not allow conduct of such activities, in future.

As per credible intelligence reports, due to fire of own troops, terrorists suffered heavy casualties.

Pakistan Army is determined to defend Pakistan’s borders against the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
