The Indian infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) has opposed in the Delhi High Court the plea of Kashmiri woman Hurriyat leader, Aasiya Andrabi, challenging the attachment of her mother-in-law’s house.

The NIA, in its reply, claimed that the attached house was used as the office of Dukhtaran-e-Millat by Aasiya Andrabi.

Aasiya Aasiya, Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, had approached the high court in August against a trial court order which refused to interfere with the attachment of the house by the NIA. Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates were arrested in 2018 after India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a false case against them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. They were taken to Tihar jail where they still remain imprisoned.—KMS
