Flood death toll in Balochistan rises to 299: PDMA

With five more deaths reported from Balochistan during the last 24 hours, the death toll in the province due to rains and floods has reached 299 on Friday.

According to the statistics released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), over 500, 000 cattle have also been killed in the province.

The statistics further reveal that out of total 185, 000 homes affected by the natural disaster, 65, 000 have been completely destroyed.

Similarly, agricultural fields spreading over 900, 000 of land have also been affected. Over 200, 000 solar plates and tube-wells have also been damaged, discloses the PDMA.

It has been further revealed that 103 dams and over 1, 500 kilometers long roads have also been damaged.

The Authority says that Naseerabad division and Mach district are worst-affected where people are falling prey to malaria and other contagious diseases.—INP
