In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed its grief and sorrow over the deaths of many personalities associated with the organisation, the freedom movement and the Mirwaiz family.
According to Kashmir Media Service, among the deceased personalities include renowned political and social activist Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil, mother of Ghulam Mohammad Butt, president of AAC, Zonimar constituency, and Khawaja Abdul Razzaq Lone, father-in-law of Shakeel Ahmad Rather, Mirwaiz Manzil office staffer.
In a statement, the AAC on behalf of its leadership, especially its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest, expressed condolence and solidarity with all the bereaved families and prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed souls.
The AAC said that Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil started his political activities under the leadership of Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA). Even in unusual and unfavourable circumstances, the deceased made sincere efforts to carry forward the organisational programmes side by side with the martyred leader. Yaqoob also worked under the leadership of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. He was also associated with Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, and rendered his services for the improvement of the Auqaf as well.
The AAC and its chairman expressed condolences and solidarity with Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil’s family. It also expressed grief at the demise of mother of Ghulam Mohammad Butt, the Halqa President of AAC, Zoonimar, and termed her as a virtuous and pious woman.
It also paid tributes to Khawaja Abdul Razzaq Lone and expressed condolence and solidarity with the sons of the deceased, Ghulam Ali Lone and Farooq Ahmed Lone and his son-in-law Shakeel Ahmad Rather.—INP
